Wondering what it’s like to spend a few days in the mountains?

Let us share a little more information and our FAQ, which will share a little more about us, about our location, feeding in the nests and transportation options.

WHO WE ARE AND HOW WE WORK?

The Terramia Estate team is small.

We personally take care of the Nests. We never thought we would be a hotel, so please don’t expect 24/7 reception and services, but we do our best to give you the most relaxing and joyful experience. We are here for you every day between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. if you would like daily cleaning please let us know, we would never enter your nest without an invite but are always happy to assist in any way we can.

Please note that the nearest ATM is about a 90-minute drive away. Come prepared!

FIRST TIME IN THE MOUNTAINS?

Terramia Estate is part of nature, our cleanliness standards are the highest, we give our best efforts to keep the nests perfect but that does not prevent occasionally insects, spiders, mosquitoes, frogs or snakes from visiting the nests. Please consider this before you book and do not book if you are not prepared for an encounter with one of them. We are immersed in nature. Animals are friends, not enemies. If you are not comfortable with that, it is better to book a different type of accommodation than a geodesic dome in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.


Our environmental humidity is 95%, so all the nests have dehumidifying equipment that you can turn off at night if its sound is not pleasant, but remember that it will be important that it is turned on during the day.


The internet is only at one point of the property, it is very deficient, it is satellite sometimes it does not work at all, it will not have a mobile signal from any operator, be prepared for total disconnection

FEEDING

Each nest has a kitchen with crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, cutting board, you will find a fridge to store your ingredients, salt, pepper and oil. Each nest has a gas cover and a gas barbecue outside so you can enjoy your best preparations.

If you don’t feel like cooking, don’t worry, we have a delicious menu, we offer finished breakfast and dinner on offer of the day, all our recipes are a fusion of flavors with local ingredients and we try to adjust them to your preferences if you have any at the time of feeding yourself. . We don’t have a restaurant yet, but you can enjoy meals in your nest, someone will bring them there.

Our lunch offer is designed for our visitors to have fun and share activities that are not enjoyed on a daily basis, we will send them to your nest, packed for the grill (Protein, Garnish and salad) You will enjoy the company, the terrace and the view

LOCATION

Take a good look at the map, we are 90 minutes from Santa Marta and 40 minutes from Minca, there is no nightlife here, There are no bars, clubs, cafes or big shops. We are far from the city by choice, in the middle of the forest up here on the highest coastal mountain in the world, with a calm environment. Terramia Estate has no restaurants nearby, it will take 600m – 15 minutes to get to the nearest small store, you will only find basic products there. remember that you can bring as many supplies as you like with no restrictions.

There are so many things to explore. Just to mention… you can go on an excursion to Cerro Kennedy, if you are lucky and there is a clear sky you can see 360°, the snow-capped peaks, the Tayrona park, have some cookies and a coffee to make a stop and enjoy the silence of the mountains, bird watching, walks in coffee plantations, visits to waterfalls and much more

HOW CAN WE HELP WITH YOUR TRANSPORT AND ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE?

Check-in is from 3:00 p.m. and until 7:00 p.m., avoid check-in later than 7:00 p.m. as it is very troublesome and in some cases it is not possible. check out is at 12 noon.

If you wish to receive transportation services, we will be happy to share the contacts of our recommended driver once you have a confirmed reservation. Our recommended drivers can pick you up anywhere in Santa Marta, (Palomino, Parque Tayrona, Barranquilla or Cartagena) the drivers can also help you with a stop at the supermarket or ATM before reaching us. If you know you will have a late flight and therefore a late night arrival, we recommend that you use our verified drivers who offer a fair price and a safe arrival and check-in at Terramia Estate.
